After the holidays, and with the cold season that’s bracing us, we totally understand how it can be a struggle to wake up early and get energized right away. We tend to laze around and rely on our phone to wake us up, however, it would only leave us lazier.
If we want to start the year right, we have to start our morning right. And that means making sure we got the best good night’s sleep so that we wake up the next day energized and effective in all the tasks we’re set to do.
Don’t worry because we’ve done the research for you! Here are five tips to wake up to an energizing morning routine!
Consume Light Dinner in the Evening.
Eating a huge portion of dinner can result to having trouble sleeping in the evening. Instead, allocate the biggest meal for breakfast and lunch, then, as they say, eat like a pauper for dinner. Eating light can make you feel fresh the next morning that getting up won’t be an issue anymore.
Eat a Balanced Diet.
A balanced diet can help you prevent constipation and other digestion problems. So, avoid as much sugar-laden snacks and processed food that can leave you feeling groggy the next day. Instead, eat more vegetables and fruits, which are excellent source of vitamins and minerals.
Drink a Glass of Water.
There are so many benefits of drinking water first thing in the morning. Firstly, it cleanses your bowels, and flushes toxins in the body. It also stimulates the red blood cells to populate faster, signaling energy levels throughout your body.
Stay Away From Your Phone.
Filling your brain with unnecessary information, such as bad news from other parts of the world, upon waking up in the morning will make you lose your focus. Use a proper alarm clock and decide to browse your phone on the later parts of the day. Let your brain wake up naturally and fill it up with positive thoughts by meditating or by writing about things you’re grateful for!
Exercise.
You might think that exercising will leave you tired in the morning, but it completely does the opposite. You can start with a little stretching from your neck, arms to your legs. This will help blood to properly flow through your body, bringing in the much-needed energy. It also gets your endorphins going!
It is not necessary to hit the gym. The stretching can be followed by a run around the block or simple routines at home that includes lounges, jumping jack, sit-ups and push-ups.
